- A small building on the 1924 OS map is labelled 'Fire Engine Ho.', evidently used to house the town fire engine. No larger than a shed, it was set back from the High Street with the narrow end facing the road, and stood against the property boundary in the yard of what is now no.37 High Street. The structure is shown on the 1835 tithe map |
